The project
In Basel, Mathis designed one of the world’s largest timber aircraft hangars, designed to accommodate wide-body aircrafts such as the Boeing 747.
The glue-laminated structure spans an impressive 90 meters, offering 90-minute fire resistance and the capacity to support 5-ton overhead bridge cranes.
Each part was crafted, transported, and assembled with the utmost precision, meeting the strict safety and reliability standards expected in the aviation industry.
This large-scale project is testimony to Mathis’s expertise and mastery in structural design.
