The project

Mathis designed and built a significant portion of the timber structures for the residential buildings in the Athletes’ Village.
The almost 50,000 m² development is one of the largest timber-concrete projects ever undertaken in France. The mandate was a building that would emit half the CO₂ emissions of traditionally built structures.

Experts in prefabrication, precision engineering, and reliable execution, Mathis helped make the Athletes’ Village the pride of French timber construction and an example of reversibility and sustainability for the neighbourhood long after the Games.

Wood has crafted our story.

It gives form, ignites the imagination, and uncovers meaning. With Mathis, wood takes on a language of its own.
