The project

At the heart of Europe, the Strasbourg Exhibition Center – designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates – embraces both international architecture and French timber craftsmanship.

Mathis designed and built the glue-laminated post-and-beam structure of over 2,000 m³ of timber.

Rhythmic and luminous, the meticulously crafted framework reflects the quiet strength of locally sourced timber expressed on a monumental scale.

A contemporary landmark, it is a symbol of the importance of French timber in the European architectural landscape.

Wood has crafted our story.

It gives form, ignites the imagination, and uncovers meaning. With Mathis, wood takes on a language of its own.
