The project
The new headquarters of the French National Forestry Office reflects the juxtaposition of urban architecture and environmental commitment. Mathis designed and built the timber structures and façades from wood, sourced from state-managed forests. This 7,500 m² low-carbon, naturally ventilated building features complex acoustic and vibration solutions given its proximity to the underground train. The flow of the building encompasses a bright internal street connecting workspaces to a central garden. Conceived as a showcase of French public expertise, this headquarters conveys a powerful conviction: here, wood becomes a material of identity, innovation, and responsibility.
